Cinny Buns

  Cut, wrap, stamp, repeat.  Spending 5-6 hours every day watching everyone else around me bake, this is what I would wake up at 6:00 AM to do.  Package the goods.

  Everyone has to start somewhere, obviously, especially in any kind of kitchen.  I didn't have much on my resume, besides some gaping semesters in my post high school career and some caramel apple and fudge experience.

Cream Puffs

  A crisp spring wind hit my back as I stood surveying the dinkiest of little man-made lake-ponds.  Behind me, the bars on nearly every corner of that downtown rural city were starting to liven up.  I glanced back at them wearily through the archway that marked the beginning of the descending stairs.  There was a strange kind of beauty here, and I always found it worth the 20 minute walk from campus.  Lampposts lit up the walking path, and I remember having some of my most peaceful times there.  It felt like somewhere else.

  Can we stop the world for a minute?  Let's stop the commuting, milk steaming, 5:00 AM-ing, money saving, and school prepping for just a bit.  Because I need to talk to you about something very very important.

  I'm in slight denial of this.  Yep, I'm also a normal person.  At any other time in life I'd welcome the change, what with autumn being my favorite season and all.  But this fall is different.  It's likely my last one at home, before I turn 18 and get out of here. 

Strawberry Shortcake

  There was a time in my girlhood when I had quite a thing for Strawberry Shortcake.  And I don't just mean the dessert, I mean this chick.

  I much prefer the appearance of the older one, relaunching Strawberry Shortcake and all her pals was a silly thing to do.  But, that didn't stop me from buying strawberry-scented dolls, her "Berry Yummy" Cookbook, T-shirts, and even flip-flops.

  I also seem to have a thing for pink cookbooks.

Cream Cheese Cinnamon Rolls

  I have a non-cookie recipe today!  And not just any non-cookie recipe, but a non-cookie cinnamon roll recipe.  It also just so happens to be the best cinnamon roll recipe ever.


  At least in my book, but I'm pretty sure these will also go in your book once you've tasted them.  Cream cheese is folded right into the dough, creating a lovely creamy texture like none other.
